"Into each life, a wrench must be thrown."
I just made that up, feel free to share this Melissaism as you see fit. The job offers, inspired by my witticism, should start pouring in any second now.
Some would argue (everyone probably) that opportunity is not the seeker, that one must pursue and/or create their own opportunity/destiny/whatever. I desperately don't want that to be true. I want someone to fall all over themselves to offer me a position I never dreamed I wanted - which would be ever so helpful, because I don't know what I want.
It's become painfully obvious that I'll need to
Step 1: START SOMEWHERE/ANYWHERE
First Steps are Always the Most Painful - a.k.a. thinking hurts

Aside from searching for a job outside of my home, I'm looking for potential ways to monetize my blog (make mola). This is where you get all impressed that I know the word "monetize", and can use it in a sentence (regardless of accuracy)(see what you're missin' out on, Potential Employer Person?).
In order to draw enough income to get me to BlogHer 2013 - where I'll learn everything I need to know about World Domination being a better blogger - I'll need to know what to improve on my bloggity-blog-blog.
I need YOUR help, Dear Reader.
If you haven't been following me regularly,
you're welcome to read past posts and catch up.
I'll wait....
So, aside from doing more picture posts and using a lot less words (and maybe a grammar refresher)...
What do you like/dislike?
What would you like to see more of/less of?
Would product reviews turn you off? On?
(don't get all gutter minded, folks)

Recommendations for improving?
Recommendations for making money?
Just...
BlogHer 2013 or BUST!
I realize this takes time from your day, so you can just do it later tonight. Or, tomorrow...if you must. I can only tell you how much I appreciate your comments and input and how much you mean to me.
I {heart} You All
No pressure or anything....Just...

Melissa. You are perfect just as you are. Now, about making money, let's jam on that gf. We have valuable opinions!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet! But, if that were true then my numbers wouldn't be plummeting. Yes, I know it isn't all about numbers... but then again, it is, ya know? I need to see if I want to invest in this hobby of mine or figure something else out. Thank you for your always kind and wonderful comments and support!

ReplyDeleteI think there are several ways you could make some extra cash. The first thing you need is a media kit to connect http://goo.gl/iYXya with sponsors or products you would like to review.
ReplyDeleteI do like what east coast mommy has on her page of accepting sponsors.http://eastcoastmommyblog.blogspot.ca/2011/09/want-to-sponsor-giveaway.html
I have used IZEA in the past with Express and it was great! You don't have to accept everything that comes your way :)

I also got a lead for Revlon which was some what lucrative but because I didn't have a US address I couldn't participate.(still grumbling)
So I believe there are reviews out there which you can do with keeping your blog interesting.
I also know that you are very talented writer perhaps try to get paid for your writing :) Writer's Digest has a great list of paying publications. It's just a matter of getting your feet in the door.
I hope this helps!
Wonderful help! Thank you. I need to hunker down and really do something instead of just write about doing it. :-)
DeleteIf you have any questions just give me an email :)
ReplyDeleteWhere are you?!?! I miss your crazy drawings:)
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you! I miss doing them...which is something I never thought I'd say. If my brain fog lifts, then I'll be back on Wednesdays with more zanyness! And again...sending you oodles upon oodles of good luck wishes on the next chapter of your life!!
DeleteYou're like my twin. I've been waiting for someone to show up at my front door with moneybags too! I started blogging in 2005 and if you can believe it, no one has shown up yet! Well, unless I was at the bar and missed them - that could have happened. I don't go to the bar that often though - usually I'm at the casino.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read backward yet, I only just arrived. And you are now in my Google Reader. I'm sorry my blog doesn't like you, but I like your blog just dandy. Glad to have found it!!
Those damn moneybag people are totally unreliable! I've been waiting for-freaking-evah! Hello!!! At least you totally get it. Having to decide a career for myself just smacks of smarts I don't possess, so if someone would be kind enough to do it for me, I'd be happy to reciprocate with a huge batch of chocolate chip cookie. I make the best. NO really...I do.
DeleteRead on and please feel free to comment...good or bad, I'm no delicate flower. Although, Guido might get offended, you never know with her. ;-)
